Last Friday we held a Special International Celebration Event as EWPS. This was because we have recently achieved two  nationally recognised awards.

British Council International Schools Award

This is awarded for outstanding development of the  international dimension in the curriculum. We were delighted to welcome our local Councillor Sarah Ruiz & Gaurav Randev from the British Council to present this.

Confucius Classroom Award

This is an internationally recognised status that reflects the quality and commitment of our Mandarin provision. This was presented by Professor Paul Ivey (the Deputy Vice Chancellor of London South Bank University) and Professor Yinong Xu (Director of the Confucius           Institute).

Both awards were accepted by representatives of the Junior Governing Body on behalf of the school.

As part of our celebrations we welcomed back the Chinese Roadshow who treated all the children from year 1 to 6  to a fabulous display of music, dancing and martial arts.

We were also joined by Councillor Julianne Marriott (the Lead Member for Education in Newham) who helped to close our event.

A huge thank you to staff for all their hard work, to our pupil ambassadors for hosting and to our guests for coming to celebrate with us.
