Parents In Partnership
Ellen Wilkinson Primary School is committed to promoting positive relationships between home and school. Parents and carers are a child’s first teacher and have a crucial role in their development before and during their time at school. By working in partnership we can all support our children in every step of their learning journey.
To find out more please take time to look at the attached booklet which covers:
- How we do this at EWPS
- Ideas on how to support your child with their learning
- How the school can support this
- How to share your ideas about what we can improve
- How to become more involved with the school
- What to do and who to speak to if you are ever concerned
We hope you find it useful. If you have any ideas about other information that would be useful to include please let us know!
Home Communication Book
Every child at EWPS is given a home school communication book. This book is designed to keep a record of a child’s reading, homework and behaviour. It is also intended to support general communication between school and home. However, it is only as useful as we all make it!
Therefore as a school we will:
- Record your child’s reading.
- Ensure homework details are provided each week.
- Respond to any general communication request from you.
- Sign the book weekly.
We ask parents to:
- Read with their child regularly.
- Check the communication book at least once a week for details of homework, behaviour and any messages.
- Use parents’ comments for any non-urgent questions or information you may have.
- Sign the book weekly.
Parent Voice/Pupil Champions
Parent Voice/ Pupil Champions are a newly formed group who are reviewing the communication we have with both parents and children to ensure that their views are clearly heard and are an intrinsic part of the next stage of our school development.
